Description

It feels light in your hand and glides lightly over all types of surfaces, from hard floor to deep pile rugs.

You choose between the four states (Off, Min, Eco or Max) by pushing the slider towards the floor head. The Miele isn’t all that generous when it comes to attachments but it is unique in the way it can be disassembled and reassembled.Coming with an HEPA Lifetime Filter, this cordless cleaner is perfect for allergy sufferers, capturing 99. Aside from its struggles with quaker oats, it did well with other types of debris like coffee grounds, sand, and quinoa.

Just twist and lift it off the motor, then twist the lid once more when you get to the bin and a flap pops open to let the dust fall out. There’s only one control on the device: a four-point sliding switch that’s located on the handle, about where your thumb lies as you hold it.It’s similar to the Bosch Serie 8 cordless vacuum we reviewed last year and better overall than the cheaper Vax Blade 4 but it lags behind the Dyson V8, V10 and V11. Whether you prefer to have the PowerUnit in the upper position for full flexibility or the lower position for premium comfort, Miele does not restrict you to a ‘standard’ configuration. They don’t have a plastic guard than goes down to the floor on the front of the floor head, which lets the fluff on the roller create the seal the vacuum needs to pick things up and provides enough space for larger items such as Cheerios to pass underneath. This is a welcome addition but it’s more fiddly than Dyson’s entire head swap, requiring you to unlock the side panel, slide it back to expose the end of the brush, pull that through the hole, then line up the replacement brush before locking it all back up again. The Dyson V11, the British firm’s flagship vacuum, is the main rival to the HX1 when it comes to premium cordless vacuums.

I enjoyed using it in its upright-like mode, which kept much of the weight of the vacuum near the floor and made it easy to push around. I was pleasantly surprised at how much it picked up on hard floors, which is a rarity for stick vacuums without a soft roller. Cleaning results on carpet were impressive, but the lack of a soft roller nozzle limits effectiveness on hard surfaces. Plus, the charge time is only four hours, so the Triflex HX1 Pro will be ready to tackle your chores again in no time at all.I enjoyed the option of reconfiguring the vacuum in a different way, and it’s always a joy to find a cordless stick vacuum that can support itself in an upright position when not in use. Most of the V15’s features are a step up from what you get with the Miele and – scarcely believably – the Dyson is the cheaper machine. If you live with long-haired people or pets, you’re going to end up getting the scissors out to regularly clean the roller on this vacuum cleaner. In max power, the Miele TriFlex matches the Dyson V11 and, in low power mode it’s on a par with the Dyson V8.

Finally, I was impressed with the 11 mins 43 secs I got out of the HX2’s battery on full power; it falls slightly behind the performance of the HX1 in this regard but by less than 30 seconds. To help you decide, I’ve come up with some reasons why you should go with this German-made stick vacuum.
