m. and I am wide awake because the man of the house has decided that he needs to perform a series of complex manoeuvres that involve him balancing on his left elbow. Do let me know if there are any books you’d like me to read of or anything with the blog that I can improve! The book highlights anecdotes and the experiences of the author regarding her family, surroundings and the way she handles them.

Have you ever been inside a closed space, early in the morning, with people who have apparently eaten chicken makhani and aloo gobi the previous night, have rushed to the airport in the morning and then decided to immerse their fellow passengers in aromatic fumes? Obviously, the curiosity to read a book from a celebrity turned interior designer turned author - Twinkle Khanna (daughter of celebrities Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia and wife of Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar) was always there.

Mom says she hates festivals, wants to drink beer, ride her yellow scooter, and run over random people who burst crackers. Everything has a funny part: how her name makes her feel, how her name came to be; family trips/vacations, the plane scene was too funny! As my mouth falls open and before I can protest, he continues, ‘Arrey, he’s married to Rajesh Khanna’s daughter, na, and Dimple Kapadia is there but the daughter doesn’t have anything to do with the mother; especially now that she is the only heir. I admit, I hadn’t expected it to be this good, thinking all the hype about this book was all because of the author’s husband, who is a famous actor in India.

Mrs Funnybones: She’s Just Like You and a Lot Like Me is a 2015 Indian non-fiction book written by former film actress Twinkle Khanna and published by Penguin India.Twinkle hasn't been new to the writing world; she has been writing columns for quite a time which now has compiled in a form of a book. When the picture surfaced on the web three years ago, Twinkle not just took notice of it but also revealed the fun fact about herself. In these 26 chapters marked A-Z which is unique since she has managed to start every chapter with letter corresponding to the chapter number.

Full of wit and delicious observations, Mrs Funnybones captures the life of the modern Indian woman—a woman who organizes dinner each evening, even as she goes to work all day, who runs her own life but has to listen to her Mummyji, who worries about her weight and the state of the country. Funnybones is the raw 7am woman of the house who is all efficiency and not necessarily camera ready. I've been following her on Twitter for quite a while now, and have been a fan of her tweets and columns. But expectedly what started as a has-been movie star's rants soon became the everyday struggles of an affluent but average woman, mother and wife. In this book, her husband is referred as the man of the house, her son as the prodigal son, her little daughter as the baby, which I find amusing and different.
