Press Accreditation Description of the procedure to be accredited by the Secretary of State for Communication

Current legislation is based on the Spanish Constitution of 1978, which defines the Spanish Flag in its Article 4.1. The Coat of Arms During the reign of Alfonso XII of Spain (1874-1885), an Instruction on naval ensigns, flags, honours and salutes was enacted on 10 December 1878. Article One of this document defines the national flag in the same terms as the aforementioned Instruction of 1867.

Due to the common arrangement of the same colours, at first sight, it seems that the only difference between the Italian and the Mexican flag is only the coat of arms of Mexico present in the latter; in reality the Italian tricolour uses lighter shades of green and red, and has different proportions than the Mexican flag—those of the Italian flag are equal to 2:3, while the proportions of the Mexican flag are 4:7. [12] The similarity between the two flags posed a serious problem in maritime transport, given that originally the Mexican mercantile flag was devoid of arms and therefore was consequently identical to the Italian Republican tricolour of 1946; to obviate the inconvenience, at the request of the International Maritime Organization, both Italy and Mexico adopted naval flags with different crests. [13] The image has been reproduced on t-shirts, posters, and other merchandise, and it has been associated with a range of leftist and progressive causes. Under the reign of Queen Isabel II of Spain (1833-1868), use of the bi-colour flag spread to the Army and the Spanish flag was thus unified. The Royal Decree of 13 October 1843 provides for the replacement of all flags, standards and badges, and military ensigns with other new red-weld ones. The distinguishable Royal Coat of Arms crest links the departments and agencies, showing that they’re all part of HM Government. The Cabinet Office research indicated that the crest was a favourable way to represent government because it’s perceived as a trusted and authoritative ‘stamp of approval’.Find sources: "Political symbolism"– news · newspapers · books · scholar · JSTOR ( January 2021) ( Learn how and when to remove this template message) It’s been used by various anti-war and peace movements around the world, including during the Vietnam War protests in the United States and the nuclear disarmament movements of the 1980s.
